“Tech Support” – A Short Film by Director Gary Dunkel

***OFFICIAL SELECTION OF THE 2010 FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL***

“Tech Support” is a short comedic film about a man who owns a home-based business and is forced to call one of those annoying tech support companies when his computer crashes!

The reason I wrote “Tech Support” was because I think it’s something everyone can relate to! We all at one point in our lives had to call a tech support company when our computer has crashed. We all know that when you call tech support companies a lot of the time it’s in a call center somehow in india where the person has no idea how to fix your computer. Instead they’re just reading troubleshooting tips on a computer screen. Anyone who has ever called a tech support company knows how frustrating it is to wait on hold for ever and than finally get that person who has no idea what they are talking about. This actually happened to me the day I decided to write this film. I had been on hold for about 2o minutes and finally got someone who didn’t know what he was talking about and my computer never got fixed. Basically I took my experience and exaggerated it just a bit to show the humor in it. I truly believe everyone can relate to this film and I hope you enjoy it!

Webbz “I’m A Star” Remix Music Video

Friday, June 17th, 2011

Local South Florida rapper “Webbz” from Miramar, Florida has a lot of buzz surrounding him. His lyrics and beats flow together so perfectly to create amazing music. I’ve had the chance to work with Webbz for the first time two years ago when I directed the “Check Me Out” Music Video for Nove featuring Brisco and Webbz. Right away I knew Webbz had the potential to be something huge. I’ve been wanting to work on another music video with Webbz for awhile now. Luckily he called me to direct the music video for his latest freestyle song “I’m A Star!” We shot the entire video in just a few hours. Everything was shot in Miramar because he really wants to represent his city to separate himself from all of the other Miami-Dade rappers! The entire music video was shot on a Canon EOS Rebel T2i HDSLR and will be released all over the internet sometime next week! Stay Tuned to http://www.GaryDunkel.com!! Webbz has just released a brand new mixtape called “The Pursuit of Happiness” and you can follow him on twitter @WebbzCX and me @GaryDunkel!!

There Goes The Neighborhood (Short Film)

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Finally after several months of pre-production work and scheduling conflicts we have now an official shoot day for “There Goes The Neighborhood!” We will be shooting the entire film this coming Sunday May 15th! One day shoots are always rough for an entire film but I have put together my usual film crew (Producer Adam Kaplan & Director of Photography Dominic Easter) to make sure that things run smoothly! We had 2 rehearsals with the cast to really work on the dialogue and block out the scenes! I really like how the performances have been with the cast and I believe this is gonna be a great film!

This is a comedy-turned-action film about a DEA Agent going undercover under the name of “Willy Doit”  and how he takes down a major drug supplier! Writer/Actor Jason Galotti had originally came to me with another script that we were gonna shoot but we decided to shoot this one first! Once I read the script I thought it was very funny and after a few drafts it became even funnier! I’ve always wanted to direct an action sequence where Federal Agents or Police raid a house so the fact that this is a part of this film is super exciting for me! I’m really honored that Jason asked me to Direct these films and I’m really excited to work with him! I look forward to bringing another great script to life! Stay tuned!

New Years 2011

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

2011 is right around the corner!!! Time seems to go by a lot faster as you get older, at least for me anyways. 2010 feels like it went by so quickly. The new year means a lot of things. It’s a new year to hustle harder, make more money, accomplish more goals, travel to new places, try new things, learn as much as you can, and meet new people! I’m very excited for 2011. Make sure you have your game plan in place already! I already have 3 movies (“There Goes The Neighborhood” – “Sibling Robbery” – & “:Prefer Not To Say”) and 1 possible documentary (Hip-Hop Industry) lined up for 2011. I also plan to put out many more titles, write new material, add to my IMDb credits, and launch a brand new blog where people can comment! Make 2011 yours & don’t let it slip away!!!

I would really like to thank my entire cast and crew for doing such an amazing job! Stay tuned because more films are coming soon from yours truly!
